Alogarf production
video, sound, 51 min, 2004
“Alogarf Production” is a video about a “human-machine” or a “living sculptural head” who produces things instead of just being still - pink strawberries are being “created” by carefully being sculpted in the performers’ mouth…
The video is played backwards and manipulated in speed and color – the familiar becomes unfamiliar and new - the color overly artificial, becomes synthetic…
Exterior and interior worlds meet in a playful, yet eroticly grotesque way, testing the bounderies between seduction and repultion.
Eating and consuming is inversed (the title Alogarf – is the reverse of the word “Fragola” – Strawberry in Italian)
The sound collage reinforces the production / machine element by combining various kitchen sound elements as kitchen mixer, bubbling food, dripping water in contrast to animal growls, human smacking and eating noises…
